A 4-8 mg dose of anastrozole (aromatase inhibitor) implant, releasing over 90 days, does not suppress ovarian estradiol production in premenopausal women. Its main function is to modulate peripheral aromatization, maintaining stable estradiol levels in target tissues such as the brain and uterus, without altering gonadotropin levels (FSH, LH).
